Feta Turkey Burgers

Burgers are such a comforting food and a favorite of J.’s and mine. Usually on Tuesdays we head over to trivia at Hamburger Mary’s for BOGO burgers. But of course, other weeks, it’s nice just to stay at home and relax. Still wanting our burger fix this week, and wanting to use up some leftover ingredients, I spun up some feta turkey burgers for dinner tonight.

Feta Turkey Burgers

  • 10 oz lean ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 tsp minced parsley
  • 1 TBSP minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Pepper
  • Tzatziki sauce
  • 2 burger buns (I used potato rolls)

Mix together the turkey, feta, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper and form into patties. Heat a skillet on medium heat and cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side. While the patties are cooking, toast the buns. Once cooked, spread Tzatziki sauce on the buns and top your burger with extra feta cheese and any other toppings you’d like.

Turkey is such a lean meat that the feta and Tzatziki add nice moisture to an otherwise potentially dry burger. Feel free to switch out the parsley for mint, add cucumber slices, or add a splash of Greek dressing for an extra Greek flavor kick. Any normal burger toppings like lettuce, tomato, or onion, add great texture as well.

A nice classic dinner, with a bit of a twist.
